This is a very large microfibre towel measuring 950x460mm which is ideal for use as a drying towel. It is also ideal for cleaning interiors, windows and for removing wax and polish. It is in effect a great all rounder and is used as a general purpose cloth by many professional car valeters.
If you haven't heard of the wonder of microfibre, Google for it - it's amazing stuff! Professional valeters, detailers and auto reconditioners are seldom to be found using anything else these days. They are perfect for taking off wax and polish, although it has to be said, being super absorbent, they are even better at drying cars instead of a chamois leather, and microfibre technology means that they really come into their own when it comes to cleaning upholstery, dashboards and windows.
Not all microfibre cloths are the same, we have tried dozens of brands and they vary greatly in quality - with modern paintwork being so soft it is important to use a microfibre cloth which has been designed for use on cherished vehicles, which will a 80/20 split of polyester/polyamide.... these are far superior to the kind of cloth you can get at Tescos for washing your dishes!
It's 950x460mm and a 80/20% blend of Polyester and Polyamide, if you run your
hands over it you will feel that is exceptionally soft, yet you can feel the
microscopic fibres grabbing at your skin. It has a close weave and is moderately
plush. The edges are unusual, and it is not finished in the way you would see
in a finishing cloth. The cloth is manufactured to the width so the long edges
are unfinished, while the ends are folded. The part of the material which is
folded is not sewn with microfibre thread, and so while being quite soft,
it is not super soft. It is normal practice to fold this in while working
on the exterior of the car, but detailing fanatics may wish to cut the seams
off.
